Tabcorp Partners Up for Casino Terminal Project

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australian: "Casino operator Tabcorp and partner Consolidated Properties have beaten Macquarie Bank for the right to undertake a $1 billion development, including a cruise ship terminal, on land around Townsville's Reef Casino.

"Queensland has been actively encouraging a cruise ship industry, and Multiplex is undertaking a similar residential and commercial development in conjunction with a cruise ship terminal in Brisbane.

"…Tabcorp, which specialises in operating casinos rather than developing property, owns the land around the casino, having picked it up when it took over casino operator Jupiters.

"While Tabcorp will own the property, the development will be undertaken by Brisbane-based Consolidated Properties, and will consist of 1200 units and 230 house sites covering the area around the casino.
