Super High Roller Bowl online series brings $20 million in guarantees to partypoker

27 Apr 2020

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Poker Central today announced that its premier poker tournament, the Super High Roller Bowl, will hold a series of tournaments online through partypoker’s platform. This comes on the heels of Poker Central’s Poker Masters Online tournament, also held on partypoker, where the guaranteed prize money of $16.5 million was doubled when the tournament concluded with a total prize pool of $35.4 million. The winner of Poker Masters Online, Alexandros Kolonias, was awarded the coveted Poker Masters Purple Jacket and a $50,000 cash prize on top of his total earnings of $1.2 million plus, which included 11 total cashes.

Poker Masters Online saw an incredible turnout with over 124 unique competitors recording at least one result throughout the series. The top contenders for the Purple Jacket included the Super High Roller Bowl Australia and Russia winner Timothy Adams, Global Poker Index No. 1 ranked Alex Foxen, Super High Roller Bowl IV winner Justin Bonomo, and partypoker ambassador Jason Koon. The final tables of the Poker Masters Online series were live-streamed on PokerGO’s Facebook page and remain to be available on-demand.

“I was up against a group of top-notch competitors during Poker Masters Online, so winning the tournament and getting my hands on that Purple Jacket was a huge honor,” said Alexandros Kolonias, winner of the PMO Tournament. “Hosting the Super High Roller Bowl on the same platform as PMO is enticing, as it will give poker players another virtual opportunity to test their skills and possibly go all the way like I did!”

With $20 million in guarantees, this year’s Super High Roller Bowl will begin on 23 May and continue through June 1st, when one player is awarded the SHRB championship ring. The tournament will have a total of 28 High Roller events ranging from a $10,000 entry fee up to a $100,000 entry fee. All tournaments will be two-day events, kicking off with an 8-Max event with a guarantee of $1,000,000 for a buy-in of $25,000 + $500.

The player who collects the most points in the first 27 events is the series champion and will receive a free entry into the Super High Roller Bowl Online. The Super High Roller Bowl Online is an 8-Max, two-day freezeout event with a guaranteed prize pool of $3,000,000. The buy-in will be $100,000 + $2,000 and starting stacks will be 300,000. Ten of the final tables in the tournament series will stream exclusively on PokerGO and Poker Central will award free annual subscriptions to the streaming platform to competitors who play an event.

“After a successful Poker Masters Online tournament, we knew we had to continue the momentum with an online Super High Roller Bowl series in lieu of a live tournament this year,” said J.R. McCabe, Chief Business Officer of Poker Central. “Our partnership with partypoker will allow us to continue to deliver what our fans love – live poker from the best players in the world.”

partypoker Managing Director, Tom Waters, said: “In this time of increased caution, partypoker’s goal is to help fans and players in the poker industry continue to partake in the excitement of the game.

The Super High Roller Bowl is a Poker Central owned and operated tournament that continues to grow in footprint and participation all over the world. Following successful expansion of the formats to Australia, the U.K. and Russia, along with previous tournaments in China, bringing this year’s tournament to partypoker will continue to allow Poker Central to meet the demand for high-quality poker events across the globe for players and viewers alike.
