Sun International Unsure About Singapore

SINGAPORE – As reported by Reuters: "Top South African casino operator Sun International (SUIJ.J:), which was invited last year to bid for Singapore's two casino projects, said on Monday that it has not yet decided whether to participate.

"Sun, which is also vying for its first U.K. casino licence, said it was keen to expand to Asia, and is looking at Singapore as well as the Chinese city of Macau, where annual casino revenues now exceed those in Las Vegas.

"…'We will decide after we get the RFP (request for proposals) but at the moment, we haven't decided (on whether to bid),' Sun International New Business Development Director Khati Mokhobo told Reuters on Monday.

"'It will depend on the overall investment climate, the price of the land and issues related to entrance fees for casino patrons,' Mokhobo said in a telephone interview from Johannesburg…"
