SugarHouse to host big names during weeklong poker fest
24 Oct 2017
The events kick off today with the Locals Live cash game live stream. The week also includes the two-day King of the Hill III event, a high-stakes PNIA cash game and the final day of the SugarRush tournament on Sunday, 29 October.
"Poker Night in America" (PNIA) will be on hand to capture the action, including Garrett's appearance in the high-stakes cash game that will be live streamed on Twitch and recorded to air on CBS Sports Network. The "Everybody Loves Raymond" star is expected to play against poker pros Shaun Deeb, Doug Polk and SugarHouse poker room ambassador Matt Glantz, on Friday, 27 October. Garrett will try his hand at the poker table before performing his 9 p.m. standup show in The Event Center that evening.
The PNIA cash game follows King of the Hill (KOTH) III which runs 25-26 October and has four pros putting up $50,000 each, including Blumstein, the Moorestown, New Jersey, native and Temple University alumnus, who won $8.15 million this summer at the WSOP. He'll compete against Brandon Adams and Dan Colman as well as KOTH II winner Olivier Busquet in the heads-up bracketed competition where the winner will take home $200,000.
In addition to the big names playing in the PNIA specialty events, the $100,000 Guaranteed SugarRush Challenge runs 25-29 October, a player favorite among the week's scheduled events. The week starts off with Locals Live, a $2-$5 no-limit cash game on Tuesday, 24 October. Guests must register in advance for the opportunity to play in one of the Locals Live sessions. There will also be an opening night special promotion of $500 high hands every 20 minutes from 6 p.m. to midnight, in addition to the 24/7 instant high hand promotion.
