LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Station Casinos Inc., which operates 19 properties in southern Nevada, will hire 1000 employees over the next couple of months. The Las Vegas-based company completed the task of posting all of the open positions online by early Friday, according to a company executive.

Valerie Murzl, corporate vice president of human resources and training, said the new positions showed the company's strong "commitment to reinvesting in our community."

The available job types include dealers, bartenders, waitress, hotel operations, security, chefs and kitchen assistants. There are 500 full-time and 500 part-time positions being offered, Murzl said.

Applications for all positions are taken online at www.stationcasinos.com. Murzl said applicants can find the job listings under the careers section on the company's website.

The company will not accept written resumes or applications, but assistance will be available online. Murzl said if an applicant meets the initial qualifications they'll be contacted immediately by a company recruiter.

On Jan. 19 and 20, Station's will hold a hiring event at Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa. She said the property has over 300 openings, with the company looking to interview about 800 candidates over those two days.

"This is one-stop shopping," she said. "If you are approved by a recruiter then operations, you'll immediately be walked over to human resources to fill out the paperwork."

In terms of salary, Murzl said Station Casinos was "competitive" with other casino and hotel operators in Las Vegas.
