Sportsbook.com Posts Touchdown Odds

2 Oct 2006

NEW YORK – (PRESS RELEASE) -- With his three touchdown passes last week against Detroit, Brett Favre became only the second player in NFL history to pass for over 400 career touchdowns. Dan Marino holds the record of 420 and with Favre now just 19 touchdowns away from surpassing the Miami Dolphins legend, Sportsbook.com, the world's largest online sportsbook and casino, has posted odds on how many touchdown passes Favre will have at the end of the 2006 season.

Judging by the odds maker's lines, it seems the Green Bay Packer pivot is on his way to at least tying Marino's record. Favre has averaged just over 28 touchdowns per season during his career. He already has six this season and despite coming off one of his worst statistical seasons, one in which he threw only 20 touchdowns, it seems he has rediscovered his touch. Another 18 touchdowns does not seem to be out of the realm of possibility in what could be Favre's final season.

Favre's next game comes Monday night against the Eagles in Philadelphia. If statistics are any indication, Favre should move closer to the record - his past Monday night performances and his record against Philadelphia are to be envied. Favre holds a 17-13 record on Monday Night games in which he has amassed 58 of his 402 touchdowns- more than 14 percent. He has averaged 1.93 touchdowns per game on Monday Night compared to 1.73 per game for the rest of the week. He has tossed four touchdown passes in two previous Monday night encounters against Philadelphia.

"Brett Favre, the Eagles and the Packers, Monday Night Football - this is what NFL fans dream about," says Alex Czajkowski, Sportsbook.com. "It's games like this that get fans excited and it's games like this that make everybody bet on the NFL."
