Sportsbook.com posts NCAA football odds
NEW YORK – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The top two teams in college football will meet on November 18 in Columbus, Ohio, the loser likely missing out on a chance to play for the national championship. But before the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes and the # 2 Michigan Wolverines start booking their flights to Glendale they need to take care of business this weekend. With conference and national title implications on the line, Sportsbook.com, where everybody bets on college football, has posted odds on all the week's key match-ups.
The Big Ten is the first conference in six years to have the top two teams in the AP poll. Nebraska and Kansas State of the Big 12 were # 1 and # 2 in October 2000. The last time Big Ten teams held the top two spots was 1985, when Iowa was # 1 and Michigan was # 2. The Buckeyes are home to Indiana and are 31 point favorites to remain atop the polls, while Michigan entertains a much tougher opponent, the Iowa Hawkeyes. Michigan is a 13 point bet. With Ohio State and Michigan meeting later this year it's unlikely both will advance to the BCS title game. With USC, West Virginia and even Louisville all still undefeated, chances are one loss will be too many for any title hopeful. Number 4-ranked West Virginia and # 6 Louisville are both 6-0 overall and are fighting for the Big East crown. The Mountaineers are a 22 point bet at Connecticut while Louisville is a 17 point favorite heading to Syracuse.
The other big games this week include battles between the top two teams in the Big 12 and the ACC. Number 5-ranked Texas travels to # 17 Nebraska and is favored by 6.5 points. Texas leads the Big 12 Conference's South division while Nebraska is tops in the North division, both schools at 3-0 in conference play. Number 12-ranked Clemson is the only unbeaten team in ACC action and faces # 13 Georgia Tech. The Tigers are favored by 7.5 points.
Finally, in what seems like a classic confrontation between two of the most storied schools in the NCAA, # 10 Notre Dame hosts UCLA in what will be only the third ever meeting between the schools, and first in 42 years. The Irish won both previous meetings and are 13.5 point favorites this Saturday.
