Sportsbook.com Offers T.O. Odds

21 Sep 2006

NEW YORK – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Sportsbook.com, the world's largest online sportsbook and casino, is offering odds on which team Terrell Owens will record his next reception against. With the Cowboys' star receiver's injury status unclear, nobody's sure when he will play again. Current odds favor the catch coming in week five of NFL action, on October 8th in Philadelphia against Owens' former team, the Eagles.

"Everybody bets on the NFL. Terrell Owens is the biggest newsmaker in the game and everyone will be looking to see when he makes his return and if he'll be successful when he does," said Alex Czajkowski, Sportsbook.com. "The Eagles and Cowboys game was the one everybody highlighted on their calendars when the schedules were announced in the summer and if that's where he first plays after his injury, the hype will be even greater."

As for the week ahead in the NFL, the marquee match-up features undefeated teams Jacksonville and Indianapolis facing off on Sunday. The Jaguars defense proved it'll be a force after becoming the first team to shut-out a defending Super Bowl champion when they drilled the Pittsburgh Steelers 9-0 on Monday night. The Colts offense, meanwhile, exploded for 42 points against Houston, with Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison picking up where they left off last season.

At the other end of the scale, the winless Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans will square off, each looking for its first win of the season. Miami has been disappointing in losses to Pittsburgh and Buffalo, in a game that featured the Bills sacking Daunte Culpepper seven times, including five in the first 15 snaps. Tennessee has been absolutely dreadful after suffering a 40-7 loss to San Diego last week and a loss to the New York Jets in week one. Other intriguing match-ups include two battles of undefeated teams, with Chicago facing Minnesota in an NFC North Division battle and the surprising New Orleans Saints playing Atlanta in their first game at the Superdome since Hurricane Katrina. Other battles between winless teams feature Green Bay against Detroit, Washington against Houston and Carolina against Tampa Bay.
