Sportsbook.com Offers NFL Record Odds

22 Sep 2006

NEW YORK, New York – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Morten Andersen, at the not-so-youthful age of 46, has been signed by the Atlanta Falcons. Currently the second leading scorer in the NFL's history, he sits 76 points back of taking the overall lead from fellow kicker Gary Anderson. Sportsbook.com, the world's largest online sportsbook and casino, is offering odds on whether he will achieve the record by the end of the 2006 season.

Born in the unlikely football hotbed of Copenhagen, Denmark, Andersen first kicked an American football on a whim at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. He was so impressive in his one season of high school football that he was given a scholarship to Michigan State University, where he starred and set several records. He joined the NFL in 1982 as a draft pick of the New Orleans Saints and after a long stretch with the team, and stints with Atlanta, the New York Giants, Kansas City and Minnesota, he has amassed 2,358 points. Now, back with the Falcons for another kick at the can, he looks to surpass the record of 2,434 points.

"Football is a game of stats and records. Kickers are often times overlooked by fans but when you consider that the top scorers in the league are kickers it puts the position into perspective," said Alex Czajkowski. "Everybody bets on the NFL and everyone will be looking to see if a 46 year old kicker from Denmark can kick his way into the history books."
