LONDON, England -- Sportingbet profit has risen 31 percent in Q1 results, Reuters said.

The increased profits were attributed to "a strong performance in Europe", the Reuters report said.

Overall net revenue was up 5 percent, Reuters reported.

Sportingbet also remains open to potential merger deals, Reuters noted.
