Sponsors offering money back if Sire De Grugy wins Betway Champion Chase

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Champion Chase sponsors Betway Sportsbook are marking their first foray into major horse racing sponsorship by offering punters their money back if 10/3 second favourite Sire De Grugy wins next Wednesday’s showpiece at the Cheltenham Festival.

The bookmaker will refund all losing stakes on win and each-way bets up to a maximum of £50 as a free bet should the defending champion triumph.

Sire De Grugy has been well supported since an impressive win at Chepstow last month, but remains the second favourite with Nicky Henderson’s 2013 champion chaser Sprinter Sacre the 11/4 market leader.

The offer was revealed at a Festival preview event at Moore’s Sussex yard this morning.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “The Betway Champion Chase is set to be the race of the Cheltenham Festival and we wanted to make a splash with our biggest ever betting promotion.

“Punters who want to back Sprinter Sacre, or take a chance on one of the new guard, can do so safe in the knowledge they’ll get their money back if Sire De Grugy can land back-to-back successes in the race.”
