Soccer star Rooney's father arrested in alleged betting scam

ENGLAND -- The father and uncle of Manchester United star player Wayne Rooney was arrested yesterday as part of an investigation into a "football betting scam", The Guardian reported.Wayne Rooney senior, Ritchie Rooney (his uncle) were arrested along with seven others in connection with an irregular betting pattern allegedly spotted in a Motherwell vs Hearts match in December 2010, the report explained.
A Motherwell midfielder Steven Jennings was also arrested and is accused of possibly getting himself intentionally sent off the field during the second part of the match, The Guardian reported.
