The World Poker Tour's Mirage Poker Showdown was held last week. Gavin Smith won the championship event and a cash payout of more than $1.1 million by outlasting the tourney's 317 entrants.
Smith also won a $25,000 entry into the season-ending WPT Championship at Bellagio. Las Vegas pro Ted Forrest finished second and collected $579,386.
