SkyCity shareholders want changes
NEW ZEALAND – As reported by the Dominion Post: "Shareholders are calling for changes to SkyCity Entertainment's board as concerns mount about the casino operator's deteriorating financial performance.
"Shareholders' Association corporate liaison Des Hunt said at least two SkyCity directors should be replaced to bring in new blood with a fresh perspective.
"He pointed out that Evan Davies had been SkyCity's chief executive since the company's launch in 1996 and was also a director.
"…Mr Hunt said the association would like to think the board would measure performance in the next 12 months carefully.
"…SkyCity chairman Rod McGeoch said in a tough trading environment it was critical to have knowledgable, stable and consistent leadership.
"…Interim earnings before interest and tax (ebit) from Auckland, which provides 59 per cent of group ebit, fell 22 per cent to $65.4 million…"
