Sky City to Buy all Hamilton Riverside Centre

NEW ZEALAND – As reported by New Zealand Stuff: "Sky City is to pay $7.5 million to buy the share of Hamilton's Riverside Entertainment Centre that it does not already own.

"Sky City's Hamilton operation, including a casino, is the main occupant of the Riverside centre.

"Entertainment facilities being acquired in the transaction announced yesterday included a bar, a 10-lane bowling alley, the Megazone games centre and a laser strike operation, Sky City said.

"…The deal cements Sky City's position as the dominant player in the New Zealand casino market. It owns or has interests in five of this country's six casinos as well as two in Australia. The announcement came after the local market close. Shares in Sky City closed a cent lower at $4.82 have dipped in the past couple of days on speculation the casino operator was gearing up for a much larger purchase…"
