Shuffle Master Purchases BET Technology Assets

LAS VEGAS -- (Press Release) -- Shuffle Master, Inc. (NASDAQ National Market: SHFL) announced today that it has finalized the purchase of certain assets of BET Technology, Inc. ("BET"), a privately held corporation that develops and distributes table games to casinos throughout North America. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Shuffle Master will own the underlying patents and trademarks for numerous proprietary games including Fortune Pai Gow®, Royal Match 21(TM) and Casino War®. BET currently has over 1,100 tables licensed throughout North America and this acquisition adds to Shuffle Master's profitable Entertainment Product line that includes the highly popular licensed brands Let It Ride®, Three Card Poker®, Four Card Poker(TM) and Big Raise Hold'em(TM).

"We are pleased to add Fortune Pai Gow, Royal Match 21 and Casino War to the other successful table games in our Entertainment Product line," stated Paul C. Meyer, President and Chief Operating Officer. "We have now fulfilled the promise made at the beginning of fiscal 2003, that, through internal development and acquisitions, we would add 1,000 table games by the end of fiscal 2005. In fact, we have added approximately 1,400 tables inside of 16 months and now have over 2,900 branded table games licensed throughout the world."
