Sheldon Adelson visits Toronto mayor to lobby for casino

TORONTO -- The Globe and Mail reports that Sheldon Adelson has paid a personal visit to Mayor Rob Ford.

Adelson is chief executive officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp., one of at least three Nevada-based gambling empires - the other two being MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment Inc. - that have expressed interest since the province announced plans to open a casino in the Greater Toronto Area, the Globe and Mail reports.
