When a Bad Beat jackpot is won, it is split among all players sitting at the table, with the losing hand getting the largest share. In this case, the losing player, Mark S. from Denver, scooped up $284,644. The remaining five players seated at the table were each paid $42,697 as part of the promotion.
"We are delighted to celebrate a big win with our seven lucky guests and share such a memorable and exciting moment with loyal players and our dedicated poker team," said Sean Demeule, vice president and general manager of Ameristar Black Hawk. "We have created a truly unique premier poker experience at Ameristar with unmatched guest service and among the highest jackpots in the country."
Ameristar Black Hawk unveiled its market-leading premier Poker Room in December 2014. The expansive Poker Room features 22 tables, personalized service and state-of-the-art amenities for players. The current bad beat jackpot up for grabs is $474,000, one of the largest in the country. If it doesn't hit in the next few weeks, it will continue to grow.
