Seneca Nation Denies Talks

NEW YORK – As reported by the Buffalo News: "The Seneca Nation of Indians claims that reports it has talked to a Las Vegas group about constructing a $350 million gaming and entertainment complex along Buffalo's waterfront are 'unsubstantiated.'

"Barry Snyder Sr., Seneca Nation president, said in a prepared statement issued Monday morning that his group has not been involved 'in any site selection process for a future third casino.'

"This comes after it was suggested that the Seneca Nation was negotiating with Pinnacle Entertainment to build the complex along 40 acres of waterfront land currently owned by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. The land includes a large portion of the property that the Buffalo Lakefront Development Team has targeted for its massive, multi-use complex.

"…Officials from Buffalo Lakefront Development said the Pinnacle proposal is not part of their plan, either…"
