Scientific Games, West Virginia Lottery Extend Contract

2 Mar 2006

NEW YORK – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Scientific Games (Nasdaq: SGMS) will supply instant tickets and related Marketing services to the West Virginia Lottery for three more years pursuant to a contract announced today. The pact, which is valued at $4.5 million over its initial term, includes provisions for two potential one-year extensions.

"Scientific Games has been supplying instant tickets to the West Virginia Lottery for its entire 20-year history, and we are pleased to be entering the third decade of our partnership," said Scientific Games Chairman and CEO Lorne Weil. "We expect even stronger returns for West Virginia's programs for education, seniors and tourism supported by the lottery."

"For two decades, we've enjoyed consistently improving returns to the people of West Virginia from our partnership with Scientific Games, so this new order is both an appreciation of solid products and service in the past and in anticipation of even better games to come," said Lottery Director John Musgrave.

Now celebrating "20 Years of Winning for West Virginians," the West Virginia Lottery supports state programs for education, senior citizens, parks and tourism. Lottery revenues have helped finance more than 40,000 computers for the public schools, handicapped access in the state parks, and transportation and home health care for seniors. After transferring profits to the state's general fund in its early years of operation, lottery revenues have been dedicated to specified beneficiaries since 1989.
