San Manuel's Huge New Casino Will Open in January

CALIFORNIA -- As reported by the Fontana Herald: "When the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians opened their bingo operations named San Manuel Indian Bingo back in 1986, they never imagined that less than 20 years later, a new facility of more than 480,000 square feet would be needed to satisfy their enormous clientele.

"The new mission-style casino, which will open to the public on Jan. 28, 2005, will offer players more space, comfort, amenities and entertainment, casino managers said

"...This will be the second time tribe officials have needed to expand their operations due to high demand.

"...In order to accommodate the thousands of people who visit the casino each week, new and bigger playrooms have been created.

"The Yuhaviatam (People of the Pines) Room, with 2,500 seats, is the second largest of its kind in the country, according to casino managers.

"Located on the second floor, this bingo hall includes 12 60-inch plasma screens, a 100-inch projector and an automated jackpot system. With more than 45,000 square feet, the Yuhaviatam Room has enough space to create a non-smoking section.

"...Two thousand of the most innovative slot machines are available to players in denominations ranging from a nickel to $25 per game. Slot machines will be spread out along the main floor and in sections of the second floor.
