San Antonio poker star charged in illegal gambling probe

World Series of Poker Main Event finalist Richard Henry Lee has been accused of operating an illegal sportsbook by San Antonio authorities, according to report by Guillermo Contreras in the San Antonio Express-News. Lee, who won almost $3 million after placing sixth in the 2006 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, and four others have been charged with gambling promotion by the office of San Antonio District Attorney Susan Reed. The misdemeanor charges, which were filed after a nearly 14-month investigation, carry a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
