Rushmore Casino provides a fun Keno experience

20 Mar 2008

By Vin Narayanan

Ok. It's confession time. Until today, I had never played Keno. I've seen it in bars. I've seen it in casinos. I know people who have won significant amounts of money playing Keno. But until my visit to Rushmore Casino today, I had never actually played it.

As it turns out, the game is ridiculously easy. In each game of Keno, 20 numbers are randomly drawn. Your job is to predict which numbers will be picked. Players can pick up to 15 numbers per game. Or they can ask the computer to choose for them using the "Quick Pick" button. In Rushmore's version of the game, the "Quick Pick" feature selects 10 numbers.

After the numbers have been selected, you then get have the option of playing one game, five consecutive games, or ten consecutive games. For the sake of expediency, and because I generally roll that way anyway, I picked my own numbers and chose to play 10 games in a row.

Watching the games play out turned out to be a lot of fun. Big red X's covered up the numbers I missed in each game. And when I matched a number, the corresponding box would start blinking in red. And a handy score tracker kept track of how I performed in each game. Overall, the Keno experience at Rushmore Casino was quite fun, and definitely worth trying at some point.
