Ruling: Table gaming supervisors can't get overtime

BILOXI, Mississippi – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "Table-games supervisors, the floor people who oversee small groups of dealers and perform other duties at casinos, do not quality for overtime, according to what may be a precedent-setting ruling by a federal judge in Indiana.

"Thirty table-games supervisors who worked at a casino formerly owned by Harrah's Entertainment in East Chicago sued the company for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act and lost. Judge Andrew P. Rodovich of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Indiana denied their claim. He noted in his ruling that the employees did work-performance reviews on dealers and performed administrative duties as well…"
