Residents Oppose Stanley Leisure Bid
3 Apr 2006
UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the UK Telegraph: "Stanley Leisure's bid to convert the Earls Court exhibition centre in west London into a casino is expected to face protests on Tuesday when it is considered by Kensington & Chelsea council's planning committee.
"Residents have written to the council to demand that consideration of the casino plans be deferred, as there has been little consultation with them. They say the proposed casino, which would be open 24 hours a day, would be highly disruptive, producing a stream of gamblers leaving the casino throughout the night.
"…The Stanley plan also envisages remodelling the 1930s facade of the venue…"
