Red Dog provides random fun

8 Nov 2007

If you're looking for a guilty pleasure, look no further than Bodog Casino's Red Dog game. The game itself is simple. First, the player makes a preliminary bet. Then two cards are dealt from a two-deck shoe. After seeing the cards, the player bets on whether the value of the next card drawn will fall in between the first two cards. If the next card does fall between the two originals, the player wins. Otherwise, the casino wins.

Payouts are based on the spread between the original two cards. Suppose a 7 and a 3 are dealt. That is considered a three-card spread, because only three cards can fall between a 7 and 3 (4,5,6). Bodog pays 2:1 on a three-card spread, even on 4-11, 5:1 on a one-card spread and 4:1 on a two-card spread.

The true fun in this game though comes from the betting process. After the ante, you're not required to place another bet. So if a 4 and 6 are turned over, you can let the original bet ride and hope for the best. But if a 2 and King are flipped up, you can raise the original bet and win (hopefully) a little extra cash.

Red Dog is an easy way to have mindless fun and manage your bankroll at the same time. So long on and enjoy the game.
