Rebecca Liggero
Rebecca Liggero loves meeting new people and traveling – perfect qualities for someone who has won friends and influenced people in the worldwide online gaming community. After graduating from Bates College with a degree in psychology, Rebecca spent four years in Washington, DC, working in relationship management, dreaming all the while about someday making it big in online gaming. After turning down an opportunity to live in New Zealand, she moved back to Boston and signed on as Senior Account Manager for Casino City – the beginning of a dream come true! Rebecca’s work on behalf of Casino City (and later for the GPWA as well) took her to trade shows and conferences everywhere – Amsterdam, Barcelona, Costa Rica, Montreal, London, Las Vegas, Macau and many other ports of call – and along the way she began chronicling her incredible around-the-clock adventures in a wildly entertaining and industry-savvy weekly column that quickly became – and still remains – must reading for everyone who is anyone in online gaming. Following almost three years with the Casino City team, Rebecca spent a few months at Everest Affiliates where she was the Brand Manager of the affiliate program. While working on “the other side,” she realized that she truly missed her weekly column and the affiliate side of the business and decided to return to the Casino City family. One and a half years later, Rebecca resigned from Casino City and joined industry icon Calvin Ayre to serve as the Bodog Global Brand Ambassador and the head on-site reporter for the online gambling industry tablog, CalvinAyre.com. In her new capacity, Rebecca continues to travel the world, and when asked where she is based, her response is usually "on an airplane." Contact Rebecca at rebecca@liggero.net. Be careful, though – she might quote you.

Rebecca's Recommendations - October 20, 2006

20 Oct 2006

So much for the miracle...Bush...that guy kills me. You know what else kills me? I got nailed by the flu this past weekend and it was wonderful. No, it really was. I think I picked up the damn virus in Vegas last month- I must have caught it from one of my international online gaming contacts as flu season has yet to hit the US. Yea, yea, I am sounding rather shady, I know. Honestly, it's not what you think- the flu virus is airborne. See? I'm totally innocent. This does remind me though, one of my very good friends in the industry called me "The Queen of Shade" the other day- I'm not sure what is required to earn a nickname of this caliber, but he must have been joking as I am not the least bit shady. You can read all about me on Google, for Christ's sake! Would you like to know who came up with this off-the-wall nonsense? I'll give you one hint- he loves tequila. Anyway, due to Bush's official signature, more online gaming sites decided to jump on the "no US players accepted" bandwagon. Not to sound repetitive, but DON'T PANIC! US players can still gamble online- just keep checking back with me to find out where.

First I would like to mention Play United Casino. I met my Play United contact at the infamous CAP Spring Break conference in Miami and we have been working together ever since. Play United has assured me that US players are completely welcome, and in fact, their Casino City featured listing logo includes an American flag (minus the big red "x" for a change). To get you started, Play United offers a $750 free bonus: 100% match bonus up to $150 on your first deposit, 25% up to $150 on your 2nd deposit, 50% up to $250 on your 3rd, and finally, 100% up to $200 on your 4th. In addition, Play United offers a Player Loyalty Program and a very nice VIP Program. All players are automatically enrolled into the Loyalty Program upon registration and VIP players receive a generous welcome bonus, faster withdrawal times, a personal host, and access to elite promos and contests. I would also like to mention that Play United accepts players from many other countries besides the US. Again, the theme of my newsletters over the coming weeks will be to provide ALL my readers- US and non-US- with solid online gaming site recommendations in this rapidly changing environment.

Now I would like to mention a group of casinos that are represented by a lovely lady that I met in Costa Rica a few months ago. Remember that trip I took with Gambling 911? No? I bet you'd recognize the pics if I sent them to you...oh wait...I forgot...you can easily find them online. Ok, lets begin with CoolCat Casino as they are running a huge "$1000 bonus explosion" promo right now. To participate in this unique promo, simply download the software, register a real account, and redeem coupon code "1000BONUSEXPLOSION" for a $100 credit to be delivered to your account. Once the $100 has been received, you have five days to play a variety of CoolCat slot games and the opportunity to earn up to 1000% SignUp Bonus points. To claim your actual sign up bonus, make a purchase of $10 or more, and Cool at will comp your purchase according to your SignUp Bonus points percentage. Additionally, you should certainly pay a visit to Cirrus Casino, Club Player Casino and Palace of Chance, all part of the CoolCat family. Cirrus offers a $200 free match bonus, Club Player offers $65 free upon sign up plus 750% free in bonuses, and Palace of Chance offers $25 free no deposit required plus a 200% sign up bonus.

Ok, that's it for this week. Good luck, have fun, and please continue to enjoy your right to gamble online. In the meantime, I'm off to Aruba. Rebecca Rebecca

PS- I know that the flu virus is not airborne- I was just kidding.
