Now let me tell you more about my fifth (yes, fifth) trip to Costa Rica. The poker conference itself was rather small- you know, the whole "presenters presenting to presenters" type of situation. I was not a presenter, so I got to sit back and enjoy the lectures which were sprinkled with crowd stimulating Marc Lesnik questions and comments. Out of all the presenters I must say that Eric Morris, co-president of Bluff Magazine, was one of the most entertaining- he is an excellent presenter and his mannerisms are absolutely hilarious. You know what else is funny about Eric? He is obsessed with juice- orange, pineapple, pomegranate, mango, grapefruit, cranberry, kiwi- you name it. He even ordered juice at dinner for Christ sake. Even though Eric has a strange juice obsession, Bluff Magazine is the best poker magazine and forum out there as far as I'm concerned. Not to mention these guys are launching "The Coolest Thing Ever" on February 1st, whatever the hell that is supposed to be. In addition to attending lectures, I was also able to meet with some of my industry favorites such as the Tiger Gaming guys, the Doyle's Room team, the head of marketing at Absolute Poker, the head of marketing at Vegas Poker 24/7, the president of the Poker Players Alliance and the SBG Global and Poker Host entourage. My nights out in Costa Rica were as fun as ever (hence the numb and motionless foot), and I even got hit on by a Tica who claimed she liked me better than her boyfriend (who was standing right next to her). I did not make it to the Del Rey this time around so thank god Michael Corfman, head of Casino City and the GPWA, volunteered to represent in my place.
Well there you have it my friends. Now I'm off to my first two week vacation in many, many years. Sure, this trip might be somewhat industry related and sure, I'm meeting up with the Kiwi Casino and Fastwin Casino team at a beer garden on Sunday, but it's still a vacation as far as I'm concerned.
