Public Hearing for Proposed California Casino
CALIFORNIA -- As reported by the San Francisco Chronicle: "A public hearing on the environmental impacts of a proposed casino west of Rohnert Park will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 10 at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa.
"The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, a landless tribe composed of about 1,000 Coast Miwoks and southern Sonoma County Pomos, plan to build a gambling and resort hotel on about 450 acres on the outskirts of Rohnert Park and about one mile west of Highway 101.
"…Representatives from the tribe, Sonoma County, the National Indian Gaming Commission and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are expected to attend the hearing.
"…The tribe and its financial backers, Station Casinos Inc. of Las Vegas, plan to open the casino in about three years with about 2,000 slot machines, 120 card tables and bingo, as well as a 300-room hotel, five restaurants and a theater with up to 2,000 seats…"
