Progressive Gaming and IGT Expand Strategic Business Relationship

15 Jun 2005

LAS VEGAS -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Progressive Gaming International Corporation (NASDAQ: PGIC), a leading provider of diversified technology and content products and services used in the gaming industry worldwide announced today the intent to expand its existing business relationship with International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT - News) to include a formal plan to sell, market, distribute and integrate technology for the next generation table management system for casino operators.

The arrangement between PGIC and IGT is expected to combine PGIC's RFID bet recognition (using the new high speed microchip) and automated gaming chip tracking with IGT's back-end management systems and industry leading player bonusing technology. In addition, IGT is considering a strategic investment in the Company in the form of a convertible security. The Company is expected to use the proceeds of this investment primarily to reduce a portion of its high-yield debt.

IGT and PGIC signed a separate agreement with Shuffle Master, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHFL) to complete the objective of providing a comprehensive table management solution for the gaming industry worldwide. Shuffle Master will provide automatic card shufflers, card reading shoes and card and chip sorters.

The parties anticipate utilizing IGT's casino management systems, including Table Touch, along with the Company's next generation TableLink technology featuring its RFID bet recognition capability, coupled with Shuffle Master's shufflers, and card reading shoes and other components. All of which will combine to create a comprehensive table management solution. The three companies have strong and complementary portfolios of intellectual property which will be key components for this next generation system. The resulting products are expected to enhance the bonusing experience for the player and significantly improve the efficiency and profitability of table games for casinos.

President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company Russ McMeekin stated: "We believe the gaming industry on a global basis is in an excellent position to fully adopt a comprehensive table management system. The technology has evolved to the right level for casinos to recognize very compelling benefits. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of our customers for increasing revenues and profitability from using a table management solution developed through these arrangements."
