Problem gambler loses lawsuit
27 Aug 2008
"Outaouais lawyer Clotilde Berubé tried to win her case against Loto-Quebec on a technicality, arguing the gaming corporation failed to meet several deadlines. But the judge ruled in Loto Quebec's favour, saying extensions are often granted under several circumstances and in this case, they were reasonable and justified.
"...She's suing for ten million dollars, claiming she lost everything she owned at VLTs and the Lac-Leamy casino and blaming Loto-Quebec for preying on vulnerable people like herself who turned to gambling to get over her husband's death 12 years ago."
