PokerStars Turbo Series offers $15 million in guarantees

5 Feb 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The rebranded PokerStars Turbo Series, which updates the popular Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP), features fun and fast tournaments aimed at players of all levels and will take place from 18 February to 4 March. The full schedule of 74 events, with buy-ins ranging from $11 to $5,200, can be viewed on the website.

The Turbo Series will offer over $15 million in guarantees and $90,000 in added value through Platinum Passes to the PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold'em Championship.

The Platinum Passes, each worth $30,000, will be awarded to the winners of the $55 and $1,050 Twin Turbo Main Events on 4 March at 2 p.m. Plus, anyone who plays a Turbo Series event will qualify for the PokerStars Players Championship Turbo Series All-in Shootout on 5 March at 3 p.m. with one Platinum Pass up for grabs.

"The Turbo Series is a great opportunity for players of all levels to play in a fun and fast-paced series that is guaranteed to be one of the most enjoyable events of the year," said PokerStars Director of Poker Innovation and Operations Severin Rasset.

So far, 30 Platinum Passes have been awarded via a variety of online and live routes. Key Platinum Pass winners include PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) National Championship winner and journalist Maria Konnikova; PCA Main Event winner Maria Lampropulos; Winter Series Main Event High winner Philip Elliot; PokerStars Festival London High Roller winner Dragos Trofimov and PokerStars Festival London Main Event winner Kalidou Sow, who also took down the PokerStars Championship Prague Main Event in December.

Players will also be able to spin their way into the Turbo Series via $2.75 Spin & Go's with prizes right up to entry to the $1,050 Main Event, and Spin & Go tickets will also be dropped on selected daily Hot Turbos. Twenty seats will be added to the $55 Main Event via daily $2.20 satellites, and there will also be Second Chance Freerolls for those who played in events and didn't cash.
