PokerStars Spin & Go tournaments

(PRESS RELEASE) -- PokerStars has revamped its popular Spin & Go tournaments to celebrate this summer’s World Cup festivities with special edition football-themed ‘Spin & Goal’ games that will give players the chance to win prizes of up to $1,000,000 or a dream football holiday.

Spin & Goal is a fast-paced game of poker that fits in to the half-time break of World Cup matches, providing the perfect accompaniment to this summer’s viewing giving players the chance to win up to $1,000,000, free BetStars bets, Spin & Goal tickets and dream football holiday packages.

The holiday giveaway top prize is The Dream Trip Gold Package, which awards $5,000 towards a holiday or a hospitality package to a major sporting event of the winner’s choice. The Dream Trip Gold Package is followed by The Dream Trip Silver Package, which awards a $2,000 holiday voucher.

PokerStars has also updated the classic Spin & Go tournaments with the launch of exciting personalized ‘Winning Moments’ videos that recap hands for players who cash at least 100 times their buy-in at the $0.25 level or at least 25 times their buy-in at all other levels ($1- $500). Players who qualify for a winning moments video will receive an email linking to their personalized video, which can be shared on social media channels including Twitter and Facebook.

Combining their love for poker and football, we’ve renamed our popular Spin & Go tournaments to ‘Spin & Goal,’ which we think provides perfect entertainment around the upcoming matches, whether pre-game, post-game or, especially, half-time,” said Christopher Coyne, Chief Marketing Officer of Stars Interactive Group. “Spin & Goal’s fast-paced format offers randomly drawn prizes of up to $1 million in cash as well as tickets to global sporting events.”

Players can enter $1,000,000 Spin & Goal tournaments direct for a $5 buy-in, and can also claim free tickets to free rolls that award $5 tickets every hour (until 23:59 ET on 23 July). The top 10 players in each free roll will be awarded a $5 Spin & Goal ticket for a total giveaway of 240 tickets daily. Free tickets will be available for the dream football holiday regions. Customers signing up after 1 June will have tickets waiting in their account, while existing players must enter Star Code ‘DREAMGOAL’ to claim them.

Football fever
A host of activities will be taking place over the summer, kicking off with a football-themed Twitch show with PokerStars Ambassadors Lex Veldhuis, Ben Spragg, Fintan Hand and special guests. The special stream, which will launch on Sunday, 10 June at 18:00 BST will take place every Sunday while the World Cup is on. The show will be premiered on the PokerStars Twitch channel.

The Stars £100 Million Challenge offers one of the biggest prizes in online sports betting. Players must correctly predict all 64 match results (win, lose or draw) to win up to £100 million. The unique contest is available for free to adults in the U.K., Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Entry closes on 13 June at 23:59 GMT.
