PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu takes number-one spot on all-time live tournament winnings list
3 Jul 2014
Negreanu won $8,288,001 for his runner-up spot, taking his lifetime earnings to $29,796,381 – over $3 million more than Antonio Esfandiari, who had previously topped the leaderboard.
This achievement follows his recognition earlier this year as the best poker player of the past decade by independent poker-ranking service Global Poker Index (GPI). This recognition follows an outstanding performance by Negreanu in 2013, where he won a number of big poker tournaments and received numerous "Player of the Year" awards.
During the last year Negreanu has won the Bluff Magazine Poker Player of the Year, the Card Player Poker Player of the Year, the World Series of Poker Player of the Year, and finished 2013 as the number-one ranked player on the current GPI rankings.
