PokerStars announces players' choice event for 2017 SCOOP
9 May 2017
Almost 4,500 votes were cast on Facebook to choose the last SCOOP event of the year from suggestions put forward by members of Team PokerStars Pro Online. Jaime Staples was confident from the outset that Progressive KO would win the hearts of players, which was a clear favorite from the outset, with the love heart emoticon securing over 2,500 votes.
Randy Lew's Deep Stacks Turbo was the players' second favorite. The format put forward by Lex Veldhuis, Pot Limit Ohama, totaled about a third of the votes cast and Mikhail Shalamov's Win the Button Turbo trailed in fourth place.
The highly anticipated Event 57, Players' Choice will begin on 22 May at 14:00 ET.
"Progressive Knockouts are a really fun form of tournament. I am excited this has been the most-voted option. I wish everyone the best of luck in the Players' Choice event!" said Jaime Staples.
Jaime plans to play and stream all SCOOP events in the low tier, plus a whole bunch of others. Chances are whatever time you tune in, you will find him streaming. Head over to Jaime's Twitch channel to make sure you don't miss out on the action.
"We always take into account the latest trends and player preferences when building the SCOOP schedule. A Players' Choice event is a great way for our customers to directly contribute to that," said Mike Jones, Poker Operations Manager. "This event will be a fun way to close out SCOOP 2017, and I'm delighted that our players chose this format."
