Poker Tournament Raises $70,000 for Charity

20 Sep 2006

LOS ANGELES, California – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Premier non-profit mentoring agency Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA) hosted their 3rd Annual Poker Tournament on September 7th at the Hollywood Park Casino and generated almost $70,000 for mentoring programs. While the real winners are the over 1,800 Los Angeles youth who benefit annually from the organization's diverse programs, the big winner of the evening was Todd Pianin who won the grand prize of a seat at The World Poker Tour.

"It was an honor to participate in such a worthwhile charity event," said Todd Pianin. "I was glad to be a part of the JBBBSLA Poker Tournament and I look forward to defending my title next year."

"While Todd may have had some help from 'Lady Luck,' the funds raised tonight for our mentoring programs weren't by chance," said Margy Feldman, JBBBSLA President and CEO. "Our 'full house' is a direct product of our many generous supporters."
