Poker Pro Europe expands

23 Nov 2007

NITED KINGDOM -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Poker Pro Europe magazine, Europe's leading poker publication, is expanding its presence in the UK in a big way. You'll be seeing a lot more of PPEurope in stores, cardrooms and on the airwaves.

First, the magazine has inked a deal with Poker Channel for 1,500 TV ads promoting all the new features in the magazine, including an expanded strategy section, the latest news from the poker world, tournament reports, schedules, insight into the nuances of the game, tips from the pros and profiles of the game's top players.

Second, Poker Pro Europe has a new distribution agreement with WH Smith stores that will make the magazine available at those retail outlets beginning in January. The slick, glossy, professional-looking publication circulates 50,000 copies per month and will still be available at its previous locations as well: casinos, cardrooms, airports and 8,000 retail outlets.

The mission of PPE is not only to entertain and inform, but also to help turn readers into winning players, and to help winning players increase their profits. The validity of the strategies and tactics in Poker Pro Europe was proven again recently when John Donnelly - a PPE reader - defeated representatives from all the other poker magazines in Europe in the first Battle of the Mags competition.

Donnelly, a hackney driver from Ireland, first had to defeat 770 PPE readers on PaddyPowerPoker.com, then beat similar winners from the other magazines at a tough final table. A tough chore, but he did it. Donnelly will be representing Poker Pro Europe in upcoming major tournaments.

The editor of Poker Pro Europe is John "Johnny Quads" Wenzel, a top player in his own right. "Quads' is also a former newspaper and tabloid editor and the author of three books on poker strategy.

"We have doubled our subscriber base during our first fifteen months, and the TV commercials and expanded distribution will help get the word out that if you want to win, read Poker Pro Europe first," Wenzel said.
