The Friday night €100 + €10 tournament (with all registration fees going to the Poker For The Homeless/Capuchin Day Centre) attracted 50 players with 20 percent or €1,000 of the €5,000 prize pool going to the fundraising effort. 2nd Collette Murphy €352
3rd Bops €253
4th Bridie Gribbin €169

Ambassador for the fundraising festival Padraig Parkinson, said, “What a success! Despite being so close to the Irish Open and perhaps not as widely promoted as previous events we beat the 2010 total, purely by accident in the middle of the biggest recession we’ve ever seen. That says so much about the Irish poker community.

“Brother Kevin at the Capuchin Day Centre will use the money wisely to make sure those worse off than us don’t go hungry.

“There are way too many people to thank individually. Everyone who gave of their time and money knows exactly who they are and they now we know. A special thanks to Paddy Power Poker for their continuing support in sponsoring the event and we can’t wait until we can do it all again.”

Poker For The Homeless has raised almost €250,000 in the last seven years for homeless charities across Ireland.
