Pointe St-Charles Doesn't Want Casino

MONTREAL, Quebec – As reported by the Montreal Gazette: "Pointe St-Charles residents are opposed to the re-location of the casino in their neighborhood. With the help of around 30 community groups from the area, citizens are petitioning to prevent the Loto-Quebec project.
"The coalition's spokesperson, Jean Lalande, said the Peel bassin, at the intersection of Bridge and Mill sts., is just a few minutes walking distance from many residences. He said many studies show gaming establishments trigger devastating social and economic consequences in their surrounding area…"
