Players and agent charged in Pakistan cricket scandal
4 Feb 2011
Three players -- Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir -- and agent Mazhar Majeed now face criminal charges in a British court, the report said.
The charges to be laid by the British Crown Prosecution Service are related to allegations that "Mr Majeed accepted money from a third party to arrange for the players to bowl no-balls on 26 and 27 August 2010, during Pakistan's fourth Test at Lord's cricket ground in London..." The Guardian report quoted.
The players will also learn shortly the response from the International Cricket Council on what kind of ban from the sport they may face, The Guardian noted.
