PKR player turns $1.81 into $26,111

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- After qualifying for just $1.81 through a Stage 1 Satellite, Vizdy became the latest name to win PKR's biggest prize on Saturday night with victory in the $100,000 PKR Masters. The Gateshead-based player outlasted a 422 runner field to net a $26,111 payday, easily his largest win on the site to date.

The final table, which played out for two hours and 23 minutes, featured former Masters champion Kusken777, who was aiming for a repeat of his $27,375 score three months ago. Also in the mix was Barkieboy, who completed a fine weekend by going on to win the PKR Sunday High Roller the following day.

ratmanloco initially held the chip lead going into the final table with 51 big blinds, with Vizdy sat in fifth place with 26 big blinds. Runner-up sweplatte, proudly sporting his High Roller title from the previous night, entered the final ten as the short stack with just 12 big blinds. Yet with three players remaining the Swede had parlayed his meagre stack into 71% of the chips in play to lead. But it was a lead that would not see him through to a second victory in as many days, as his stack was decimated shortly after at the hands of Vizdy, who finished off his opponent in 21 hands, having entered heads-up play with a small chip deficit.
