PKR Live VI ready for London in May

1 Mar 2011

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Next-generation poker room PKR has announced plans to shake up its flagship PKR Live tournament this May with a £750 buy-in No Limit Hold'em Championship event and expected £200,000 prize pool.

Taking place at the Fox Poker Club from the 19-22 May, the new tournament will benefit from a hugely playable structure deserving of the buy-in level, a four day structure with two Day 1's, and a prize pool with a healthy five figure payout in store for top finishers.

Previous incarnations of PKR Live have been renowned for their unique atmosphere and a competitive spirit fostered by the exclusively PKR-only field. With the doors to PKR Live VI now open to the poker world at large, PKR are excited to welcome some of UK poker's biggest names to compete alongside the best of PKR for a coveted PKR Live title.

In addition to a huge number of PKR online qualifiers including freeroll and competition winners, past PKR Lives have attracted many of the UK and Europe's rising stars including EPT champion Kevin Stani, WSOP champion James Dempsey, APT Macau winner Adrien Allain and recent Aussie Millions runner-up James Keys. In 2009, Toby Lewis finished second to Vince Diver in the PKR Live III Main Event, then a $1,000 buy-in, cashing for $20,000 before going on to win an EPT title the following year.

The event will also feature Team PKR Pros including 2010 WSOP Europe bracelet holder Scott Shelley and APPT High Roller and Heads Up Grand Slam champion Vladimir Geshkenbein.

Marketing Director, Simon Prodger said "In response to player feedback we are pleased to announce the bigger and better PKR Live VI. The tournament will stand alone as the capital's dominant event in May, offering a fantastic tournament that will suit a wide range of players."

PKR's extensive satellite schedule kicks off this week with qualifiers from just $2.
