PKR crowns Facebook World Cup champion

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- As Henry and Gallas hold their heads in shame, online poker site PKR.com player Ali 'Flopimagik' Guerouane from Seine Saint Denis shows he is king of the felt after bringing home the PKR Facebook World Cup for France.

France may not have flourished in South Africa but they made their mark in the PKR Facebook World Cup Tournament. Guerouane went head to head with 19 French players and 231 players from around the world to scoop a $250 first prize and ultimate glory of representing his nation and crowning them PKR Facebook World Cup heroes.

The PKR Facebook World Cup consisted of 19 individual countries and one Rest of the World group battling it out to secure homeland glory in World Cup qualifying tournaments. The countries were awarded prize pools based on their number of Facebook fans and the top twenty players from each were selected to represent their nation in the Finals. Guerouane was on his way to securing his title after winning the French Qualifier where he overcame 679 players to bag himself $165.33 and the chance to lead France to victory.
