PicksPal Handicapper Finishes Top Ten in Contest
CALIFORNIA – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Long-time sports handicapper and Director of Odds for the free online sports picks game PicksPal, Tony Karpinski, earned an eighth place finish in the renowned Las Vegas Hilton 2005 NFL Super Book Contest.
Karpinski, who provides his pick every day on PicksPal's Daily Blast, creates the exclusive lines and propositions available at PicksPal. He finished eighth out of 505 handicappers in the exclusive Las Vegas Hilton 2005 NFL Super Book Contest, where each participant picked five NFL games each week and the winner was determined by the highest number of correct picks at the end of the season. "This was my first year in the contest and I was very happy with my performance," said Karpinski, who entered the contest under the name 3Gsports, "It is the largest NFL contest in Las Vegas." The eighth place prize money was $26,512.
Explained Karpinski: "Handicapping sporting events successfully requires a huge time commitment and unwavering dedication. I determine the viability of teams by studying box scores, personnel, coaches, stats, trends, history, game conditions and current strengths and weaknesses to create the most comprehensive picture of likely outcomes."
Since PicksPal allows players to choose from Pro Football, Pro Basketball, College Basketball, Hockey, and others, Karpinksi has attributed part of his success to his role with PicksPal: "By being the Director of Odds I have spent more time with sports and increased my knowledge of players and their statistics from the PicksPal website."
Aside from PicksPal, Karpinski also contributes to the Sports Byline USA Radio Network. "Each Monday I do promotions with Sports Byline discussing the upcoming week in sports and what the hot subjects are. I talk about the various props on PicksPal, key games and player match-ups, and also talk about past weekly winners on the website."
All PicksPal players, who play for points and prizes such as iPods and portable DVD players, can take advantage of Karpinski's 15 years of experience in the sports gaming industry. He has already won several sports handicapping contests and still publishes the The Pointspread Predictor, a popular weekly online newsletter. Karpinski has brought credibility and experience to PicksPal since its launch in September, 2005. "PicksPal.com is a great game, as it allows fans to feel the rush of the sports book while only 'risking' their egos," said Karpinski. "And, because members are only playing with points, we can create some fun, innovative propositions not seen anywhere else."
