'Pick the Pros' at Boyd Gaming properties

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Pick the Pros, the Las Vegas Valley's longest-running free football contest, kicks off its 10th season at Boyd Gaming casinos across southern Nevada on Tuesday, 29 August.

Over the past decade, Pick the Pros winners have taken home nearly $5 million in prize money throughout Boyd Gaming properties in southern Nevada, and the contest has been repeatedly recognized as "Best Football Contest" in the Las Vegas Review-Journal's annual "Best of Las Vegas" readers poll.

During the upcoming professional football season, Boyd Gaming will give away a total of more than $500,000 in prize money. A $30,000 cash prize pool will be awarded citywide each week, including a guaranteed minimum prize of $10,000 for one lucky player.

With Pick the Pros, players start a new contest each week, so players are always in the game and all have the same shot at the $30,000 prize pool during each of the 17 weeks in the regular season. Players select the winners of each week's slate of games, straight up, with prizes awarded to the players with the highest number of winning selections that week.

If there is only one top performer in the Las Vegas Valley during a given week, that lucky player will receive the entire $30,000 prize pool. In the case of a tie between two or three people, the $30,000 will be divided equally. A B Connected account is required to participate, but there is never a fee to participate in Pick the Pros. All cardmembers are eligible to receive three free entries each week, while Sapphire cardholders will receive one additional entry and Emerald cardmembers will receive two additional entries.

Entries for week one will be accepted starting Tuesday, 29 August at 5 p.m. Weekly entries must be submitted in person at kiosks located at The Orleans, Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, Suncoast Hotel and Casino, Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, California Hotel & Casino, Fremont Hotel & Casino and Main Street Station Casino Brewery and Hotel.
