Pennsylvania lottery holds live draw
MIDDLETOWN, Pennsylvania – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Amidst square dancers and hundreds of onlookers, the Pennsylvania Lottery held its live, 7 p.m. drawing tonight at the 91st annual Pennsylvania Farm Show.
The Lottery drawing took place in the Large Arena of the Farm Show Complex; the fourth year in a row the Lottery conducted its live, televised drawing at the Farm Show.
Secretary of Revenue Gregory C. Fajt served as guest drawing official to randomly select the winning numbers for The Daily Number, BIG 4, CASH 5 and Lucky for Life Lotto games.
The night's drawing was the 10,261st live, televised drawing conducted by the Pennsylvania Lottery. Lottery's nighttime drawings have awarded more than $22.3 billion in prizes to players since the first Daily Number was drawn in March 1977.
Three Lottery drawing officials, a certified public accountant, an accountant, two senior witnesses, a camera crew and a television announcer all participate in each evening's drawing. Each official evening draw is preceded by 12 test draws, and followed by three post-draws, which are conducted to certify the performance of the drawing equipment and the randomness of the official winning numbers.
