LONDON, England -- PartyGaming has reportedly held talks with bwin about a possible merger, Reuters reported.

Talk is ripe of consolidation in the online gambling industry and such a partnering would be seen as a "catalyst" the report said.

PartyGaming said it wants to play an "active role" in consolidation, Reuters said.
