Paddy Power Poker announces Irish Winter Festival schedule
15 Aug 2013
The ever popular IWF live poker event will take place in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin from Oct. 25–28. There are seven events scheduled in total over the four day long festival, a few of which are sure to surprise and delight the crowds.
Saturday, Oct. 26 sees the arrival of the first ever Crazy Pineapple poker tournament. It may sound like it involves the elaborate use of a prickly fruit, but it simply means players receive three hole cards, one of which has to be discarded after the flop. So no green grocers required, and entry is only €55.
Players looking for the thrill of the Main Event, only on a slightly smaller scale, can enjoy the two-day-long IWF Mini event. Starting on Sunday, Oct. 27 with a €225 buy in, a full €900 cheaper than the Main Event, this tournament is ideal for players looking for a longer structure on a smaller budget.
For players who want something non-poker related, the legendary Beer Pong event returns on the eve of Sunday, Oct. 27. The simple game of getting a ball into a cup never seemed so much fun and as always, there will be some great prizes up for grabs.
"The IWF festival is one event I look forward to every year, you know there is always something a bit whacky to get involved in," said a Paddy Power Poker spokesman. "We're particularly excited about our newest addition to the schedule, the Crazy Pineapple tournament. Not only has it got the best name of any poker tournament ever, it's also a great format which generates lots of action. Anyone making fruit puns at the table will be fined chips, though."
Weekly super satellites to the Irish Winter Festival Main Event are running on paddypowerpoker.com now every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday night. Players can also purchase their ticket directly for €1,125.
