Paddy Power Poker announces expanded Irish Open 2013 side event schedule
14 Dec 2012
Included in the new tournaments is a €200 + €25 Irish Open Mini Main Event with a 10,000 chip starting stack and 30-minute clock and a €500 + €60 six-handed pot-limit Omaha tournament.
The schedule also sees the return of popular events such as the €300 + €35 buy-in no-limit hold’em turbo tournament and the €125 + €25 + €20 no-limit hold’em "scalps" event.
Paddy Power, spokesman for the company, said, “We’ve continued to listen to the players and what the players want is poker. So on top of reducing the main event buy–in this year we’ve increased the number of side events, which will include a new Irish Open Mini Main Event.
“With a buy-in of €225 we’re sure the Mini Main Event will appeal to a wide range of pockets and will hopefully attract a lot of more casual and recreational players down to the Burlington to experience the unique atmosphere one of Europe’s greatest poker festivals.”
Weekly online qualification for the Irish Open main event is underway. The main weekly satellite takes place each Sunday at 8 p.m. There are three Irish Open packages worth €3,200 guaranteed in a €160 + €16 no-limit hold’em freezeout. The guaranteed packages include €395 for five nights accommodation at the Burlington Hotel as well as €525 for flights and spending.
Monday at 8 p.m. sees a €30 + €3 no-limit hold’em rebuy/add with one Irish Open seat guaranteed, and Thursday at 8 p.m. there is a €100 + €9 no-limit hold’em freezeout with one Irish Open seat guaranteed.
Players who qualify for the Irish Open main event at paddypowerpoker.com are eligible to take part in Sole Survivor with the player lasting longest in the event walking away with €50,000 in cash, a World Series of Poker 2013 Main Event buy-in and Irish Open 2014 buy-in.
