Paddy Power Irish Open Begins Registration

15 Feb 2006

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Registration has opened for the paddypowerpoker.com Irish Open 2006. Players are advised to register early to avoid disappointment – the €3,000 (+€200) event has a maximum capacity of 400 players and is expected to sell out ahead of the start of the event on Saturday 15 April 2006.

The Irish Open is Europe's longest established poker tournament -- it is celebrating its 25th birthday this year. The event has a guaranteed prize pool of €1 million as well as €50,000 added by the tournament sponsors. Further details of the tournament are available at IrishPokerOpen.com.

Players can pay in full for the event at the festival through The Merrion Casino Club which has been associated with the Irish Open for much of its 25 year history. Deposits do not secure a passage into this tournament – payment in full is necessary for players to confirm their place. This can be done in one of three ways:

By cash: Entry in full (including registration) can be paid into the event using cash at the cash desk of The Merrion Casino Club. The opening hours of The Merrion Casino Club are 2pm – 8am seven days per week. The Merrion Casino Club does not accept cheques but will accept euro drafts made out to Irish Casino Clubs Limited.

By credit card: Entry in full can be paid into the event by using Visa or MasterCard. This can be done in person at the cash desk of The Merrion Casino Club or by telephoning The Merrion Casino Club on +353 1 662 9325 and asking for the cash desk.
